LILY LAN
North Asia Lead

Job involves: Strategic development of CareConnect’s PatientCare services in Taiwan, Korea, and Hong Kong. This includes patient education services through our nurse-led patient support programmes, medical marketing and patient communication services across the region.

Worked at Zuellig Pharma for 6 years. What keeps me going at work is the sense of fulfilment gained from years of providing support to people in need through the designing, developing and implementing patient programmes across countries. At Zuellig Pharma, whatever we do has a positive impact on others even when we don’t physically see it.

My female role model is Kate Reddy, a banker from the movie, “I Don't Know How She Does It,” because she always focuses on striking a good work-life balance as a career woman and a working mom. Similar to her, I always aim to do my best at work and also set aside quality time to spend with my family.

One unique impact women can make on the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry: Women may seem soft on the outside but actually have strong willpower when they know what they want.

One hope for women in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry: There is always an expectation for women to take on the roles of a good mom and a perfect wife. My advice to other women in the industry is to continue staying focused and devoted to your work, knowing that you are ultimately making a positive impact on someone else in society.

Words of encouragement to fellow women in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry: Believe that you are making a good impact on someone’s life. Keep this in mind and you will get there, for sure!

Karen Goh
Regional Operations Manager

Job involves: Managing PatientCare’s operational framework with in-market managers to ensure that PatientCare programmes implemented across the region are compliant to the framework.

Worked at Zuellig Pharma for close to 3.5 years.

What keeps me going at work is the knowledge that I contribute to the healthcare ecosystem by helping enrolled patients in our programmes with treatment adherence and financial assistance during their journey to recovery.

My female role model is my mother because she has taught me that a woman can take charge of her life and shoulder greater responsibilities than we can imagine.

One unique impact women can make on the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry: Women can channel their nurturing instincts, such as patience, love, and empathy towards helping the industry to develop new healthcare policies, assistance programmes, and health-related activities.

One hope for women in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry: I hope to see more sponsors who’ll invest in female wellness and empowerment programmes that will benefit both the mental and physical wellbeing of women.

Words of encouragement to fellow women in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry: There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish. So, go out there to make a difference in the healthcare experiences of patients.
